good stuff mate... getting quite a collection of gear to your name lately!!! as for the rod...12 onces means it will fish efficiently fish jigs to 350 ish grams...pe8 line...usually means a braid/fused polyethelene line to 80 odd pounds ( 36kgs)...so pretty heavy gear!!! what sort of reel are you going to run?? as to fish that kind of line on that rod..you would want something pretty good....
luke
will shed more light on the matter...
ps..i am sure kasey the jig king

PE8 means about 80lb. Don't
PE8 means about 80lb. Don't get too hung up on what weight the rod is rated too. Most jig rods aren't rated like normal boat rods. They will have a jig size rating and a line size rating. Run 50lb like shizz said and the rod will handle whatever you catch on that line.
One question though and I'm not having a go in anyway just wondering that if you had heard all of the stuff about them breaking then why did you buy it still? Was it because you couldn't break in the shop?
andyrew
price was right and personal
then the bloke said but they have a tendansy to break in the top grip section i said well no good he goes if me plus ur dad loading it up cant break it i dont think it will...
so we couldnt break it end of story..
tight linezzzzzzzz.....

SPESS
Andy i wouldnt put anything
Andy i wouldnt put anything over 50lb on it because (im not being rude!) when i take you out for your first jig mate it WILL hurt and you wont be able to fish a locked drag anyway......until you get a few under your belt then youll be sweet. You might be like your old boy and struggle to get it off the side of the boat once hooked up! But saying that he is a big girl anyway. Talk soon mate. cheers chris.
Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

cheers
