Went out fishing with Bill and Tim for a mixed bag this was the biggest of the two Dhuies which took a "small" piece of S Baker on a couple of "tiny" hooks.

Hard work yesterday Andy I'm walking like an old man.
I clocked over 5hours on the motors yesterday and I would hate to know how many kms.
Tim is feeling the same.

Nice fish Matt, a good'en (rezzy by the looks) Yeh it's been quiet re descent dhufish (across the board imo) and in "general". The shallows have gone cold and the deeper water producing from what i've found & seen. (many hours on the donk too)

The dhuies change colour
The dhuies change colour according to their surrounds so generally dhuies are dark in colour because they hang out around caves and reefy structure and sometimes they will be silver if picked up over a sandy area.
It sounds good!

No grubs dan just big hooks and big bait!
Dean I have caught them when schooling and they have been dark.
When diving they are dark but I have only seen them around reef and in caves and cracks.

yeh
Yeh Scott & Dean, as rutar said re colour. If you look at the black blotches on the scales and the stained blackish tail....a give away. That's from living around rock and often resident. Schooling fish are normally silvery/pale in comparison but as rutar said rezzys can school up with em too. Normally the schooling dhues that migrate alot (especially over sand) are very pale...like a mirror
