Sounder and gps backups
Submitted by thebear on Wed, 2011-02-09 13:38Ok here is what I have done, I was in the local boat shop replacing my arials bases that got smashed on the weekend from the wind and fires (no actual fire damage as our place was missed Phew). So while I was in there I thought that my Furno 620 and navman tracker 5600 was in need of a backup unit and in a moment of shear weakness I wound up with a HDS 10 with the platinum navionics card. Two Parts
1) is this a good backup
2) what is everyones experience like with a HDS10
Cheers

Big thank you to all you great folk
Submitted by Tony Halliday on Tue, 2011-02-08 10:23Big thank you to all you great folk that sent messages, offered to even bring me coffee and offered help.
Makes me very proud at becoming an Australian citizen and being part of the WA family.
I saw people bond and help and fight fires shoulder to shoulder this weekend. Some Aussie true blue 100 year old families, others asian just arrived, Poms in shorts, Eastern Europeans who could hardly speak english, but were there to help.
It's a great community we have and when the chips are down, the tuff stand to help the weak.
Thank you

SCAMMERS ON GUMTREE
Submitted by clogwog on Sat, 2011-02-05 22:52Just thought I would make you guys aware of some scammers on gumtree,
Recently there was a Hanies signature runaboat for sale for less the half the rrp,
emailed the seller as there was no contact number, the so called seller emailed
me back with a long winded story about being in the UK and they would release the
boat if I transfered half the money too them, obviously did not happen.
After this the same seller had a quintrex, supposedly brand new for a third of the price,
after their first effort I was totally peeved of and sent them a real nasty email absolutley tore shreds of them
for being gutter trash and told them they had been reported.
anyhow, I'm sick of these pricks and would recommend others to send them a nasty email
back after they have tried to scam you.
By the way they had the haines on there again a few hours ago but it now been removed after I sent them another email!!!!

FW Xtreme Coolers roadshow
Submitted by Xtreme Coolers on Sat, 2011-02-05 12:08Hi all
I am considering doing a bit of a Xtreme Coolers roadshow for FW members. I am thinking of packing a good range of our products and heading to certain areas that might not have the chance to access specials or the product. I am thinking of mandurah as my first stop. I would set up a tent at a nominated location to showcase our product for a few hours on a Sat or Sunday.
What do you all think? After all, we are on the site to provide a service to its members.
If you are in the Mandurah Peel area and are interested in viewing a specific size or range, comment or PM me so i can make sure it makes it down.
I am looking at a few dates in the next few weeks or so. When i have a firm date i will post all details.
Many thanks and as usual, i would love to hear your feedback.
Cheers
Dave
