Fisheries F)@kup - Boat sinks.

Ok another potentially controversial boating related subject.
It's been widely reported of late that Fisheries WA Depts vessel NGadie sunk recently at it's mooring in Augusta, and that they "suspect deliberate sabotage" since they have busted in the past, a few bad azz type abalone poachers in that area...who mighta wanted to get even..
Reason for their suspicions?
The front window of the $300,000 boat was broken! (and the front hatch apparently found open)!.
Again - color me dumb - but do these tool heads REALLY think thats gonna wash with anyone with even HALF a brain?
I mean answer me this - if I break your boats window - is your boat going to SINK?
You have a window below water level????
Hellooo people....wake the F..k up - your being LIED too!
Yes - I SAW the boat with my own eyes being towed to Fremantle for "investigation".
It had a hole in the side you could drive a jetski thru!
It was "PURE AND SIMPLE" run hard aground at speed!
No deliberate sabotage, no bad guy - just a bunch a wallys who can't see with the 2 forward looking sonar god gave them in the front of their forehead, who RAN AGROUND! in a $300,00 taxpayer funded boat!
Oh yeah - did I mention these guys are QUALIFIED, to drive the boat?
So - who in their right mind moors a boat thats just been run hard aground, and is leaking and leaves it to sink overnight????
Someone who doesn't want to tell the boss "Ahh Bozz I F***&ed up and ran the boat aground," is who...
Coz, if you weren't there when it happend, it couldn't a been your fault, could it?
"Wasn't me bozz - I wasn't there!".
(Yeah coz he holed it, moored it and did a runner to avoid any responsibility, is most likely, why! IMHO).
Why do we swallow this crapola, people?
Why don't we keep our public servants accountable?
Should we just shell out ANOTHER $300K for a new boat for someone who clearly can't look after the one he had?
You know - this same department (Marine safety / Fisheries, same dog - different leg) have recently been publishing articles in local press threatening to "rescind marine certificates of proficiency" for any pro skipper who has "an incident" at sea and doesn't report it straight away. They reputedly had rescinded 2 certificates and then another 6 certificates in the last 6 months...
So - what about their own staff?
Who keeps them on their toes?
Do the same rules apply to them as well?
Didn't think so...
3 sets of rules, people:-
1 set for us mere plebs...
Then theres the "unwritten rules" - that apply to those who are supposed to be setting the example and enforcing the 1st set of rules...(which means they are a law unto themselves)...
and Finally - "The Golden Rule"... yeah - thats the one where the bloke with all the gold, gets to make all the rules!
Can I post up all the pics of the sunken boat to back my claims? You bet.
Will I?
You bet - If Fisheries don't come clean and stop publicly sprouting such lies and Publicly blaming everyone else but themselves for their own failings!!!
This could get interesting folks...stay tuned!
Do they want me to post the survey report on their own boat I purchased at tender from them, that failed because their fire extinguishers hadn't been serviced / stamped for the 5 years since the boat was built????
What about the littany of "other non rectified problems" from the previous years survey etc...
Oh yes - I have the paperwork to prove - these people DO NOT hold themselves to the same high standards they enforce upon us, who PAY THEIR WAGES and FUND their BOATS.
Personally - I am dusgusted!
How can anyone have any "true respect" for these authorities? It really is time they started to set a proper example to the public IMHO - even if that means starting by admitting totheir own failings from time to time!
Least thats how I see it!
Least thats how I see it!
Cheers!
