100 series cruiser requires ac regas
Submitted by SeperateKnob on Mon, 2023-08-28 05:36
Hi the compressor on my cruiser has stopped working and from my research this means the unit requires regassing. Seems R134a isnt sold to public anymore. Could anyone recommend an honest and reputable mechanic who could regas and or repair my car in the Rockingham or Mandurah area? Thank you

HVAC
Hi Sep, ust because it has "stopped working", doesnt mean necessarily its out of gas.
They do have a LP and HP cutout, but could be anything from a fuse to faulty clutch or loose connection?
A few things to check if you are handy with a multimeter.
If regassing, is it a 100 or a 105, or a 105 converted with FTE (very common nowadays, I have done one)
Important to make sure your AC guy knows which as the 105 has a smaller condenser, and if recharged as a 100 it will trip on HP continually-happened on mine...
If charged as a 105 and its a 100 it will be short of gas
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.
