at the moment on the beaches its weed everywhere, not sure of further up the coast (bush tracks to beaches) as far as town ramp, Sea Rescue Ramp full of weed.
Friends have caught heaps of squid, whiting, herring, skippy etc from inshore in boat, moor on crayfishermans moorings. Few people over the school holidays caught off the crayfishermans jetty, squid, blowies, herring, Coolimba (just north of Leeman off Indian Ocean Drive) jetty their but be careful its a bit rickitty. You can go on the beach from their but don't know condition of beach as far as weed.

Water is clear around the crayfishermans jetty.
