Acceptable conditions for boating

Hello, I've noticed a few posts on here asking for opinions on acceptable conditions for boating. I came across this AMSA document which contains a section on wave size vs boat size which I thought people might find useful. It's pretty general but at least gives an idea of what you will experience especially if you are new to boating.

I'v been around the traps a bit and the best advice I have heard on this topic is the

15 RULE

IF IT'S MORE THAN 1.5 METRE SEAS ON A 1.5 METRE SWELL AND 15 KNOT WINDS STAY 15 METRES AWAY FROM YOUR BOAT.

All the above depends on one thing------the size of your boat.
