Interesting how the GPS antenna is sitting on top of the tranny pole. I suppose they want the exact location of where the lump is?. Most modern gear these days does that for you though, I can scroll back through my sonar history and mark spots. A bit of sunshade over ones head would be nice too.
i have a 2kw transducer, that sits down in the water all the time , fitted back in 2007 to my furuno 620 ..it reads at speed no probs and has never missed a beat in 14 odd years now
Being a free society I can't see the reason why a picture taken in a public place of the rear end of someone's boat should have to be taken down?. I understand there are some nefarious people out there who could possibly want to steal the transducer but that would take a fair bit of detective work to find out where the boat lived based on this one picture. Unless someone chucked a sicky to go fishing!.
Yeh it's mint cobba! It's a Gnss receiver, so tracks about 28 plus sats with clear sky view, so holds a calculated sub 0.8 meter horizontal position accuracy. Can I drive the boat good enough to make that worth it... probably not! Hah
Speaking of Snapper nailed a beauty yesterday, along with a nice Duie and sharks. Within the 4 boats out yesterday there were 12 Sharks raised. We had 4 alone, make you wonder that the problem's heading south.
Welcome to Fishwrecked. That's an interesting bit of kit you've got there, have you got it slaved to an autopilot?. Don't be shy to post some stories and pictures of your boating adventures. I'm shit at fishing but at least I'm having fun !.

Fish floating to surface when powered up?
Thats a big bit of kit , but realisticly with 2-3kw trans , 16 inch screens , ipilot electrics holding you on spots and 19 types of bottom meats
you can only feed so many sharks up north and with new trial laws coming in , bring home 10kg of demersals fillets , which off most good Nw spots
is still achievable with a 1kw and some basic rods and reels. ( we all like toys but have we reached max tech were fisheries will simply offset newer
and better tech with smaller seasons, lower limits and the like?)
Love the 450hp tho, thats how you beat the seabreeze!

Silly Question
But how does that not cause turbulance and hence poor readings at any speed. Looking at that I can see it would only read at low speed.
Or am I wrong with the massive power negating turbulance under the transducer.

Looks like it was requested to be taken down.

Nice ride you’ve got there.
Question for you.
How effective is the GPS receiver sitting directly over the transducer?. I'm thinking it would be deadly!.
