He did put up a good fight
He did put up a good fight although not as good as previous ones, as this one had been hit by a shark or something similar and was missing half his tail and a bit of his underside. . Yeh Super Peg it was a sneaky fish at lunch just after midday and he went 57cm. I caught this guy after 30 minutes of no hits in my normal spot so i walked up the beach for a few hundred metres casting as I went before I hooked up. Out of the 20 or so fish we've caught this week the've all been around that mid 50 mark, with the largest 59cm and the smallest 49cm all caught on twisties and poppers between the 30-50g size.

All the clues you need to get into them are in the photo Riles has posted Daz. There's plenty around mate, just need to do the right thing in the right place.

Thats it Daz I'll keep the photos coming but Im not going to tell anyone exactly where it is. I first found this spot when I went for a dive and seen scools of tailor swimming in a couple of holes. My advise though for spots is to look for holes in or around the rocks where water runs off causing some turbulent water. Also I'm not one for massive patience if theres no bites in the first 30 minutes I start waling along beaches in search of them.

You've cracked the code there
You've cracked the code there Riles, well done!
As CityFlicker says the water behind Riles gives away the best spots to catch them.
What I'm impressed with is the time you are getting them. However in winter you have a better chance if it's overcast and rough. Most of mine have been comin' in late dusk. Cracked the elusive 70cm metro tailor last week and released him. He had a set of rusty 4/0 gangs hanging out of the back of his gills. An old warrior for sure. Took home 2 small 55cms and released another. Last night found some smaller (tastier) ones of about 45cm each.
Most of you know this, but for the site trolls.....Remember guys, Bag limit 8 with only 2 over 50cm!
I'd never chew through 8 Tailor in 2 days. So only keep what you need for a feed!
Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught!

Cheers for that Hixy. A 70cm
Cheers for that Hixy. A 70cm one would be awesome I haven’t caught one that big for a while at the moment were catching heaps but struggling to crack 60cm. And definitely agree with only keeping what you’re going to eat, also tailor don’t freeze that well so unless I’m going to eat them that night or the next we let them go. All of mine since last Friday have been released, the more tailor in the ocean the more fun for all .
