Another Jurien Trip
Hey all,
Headed up to Jurien last thursday friday and while the thursday was slow by Normal standard all memories would be erased by the end of Friday as the fish turned on Big time!
Daz on the first drop of the day, He backed up with another next drift..
Schecky with the only Mack on jig thet didn't manage to pick our pockets during the day,
I then scored a nice Yellowfin on troll,
The result after a rest in the fridge overnight
Whitey had mentioned that he had seen some solid yellowfin hanging around the bait schools at our next spot. First drop and Tim hooks up solid,Line is searing off the stella on a tight drag faster than anything i have witnessed. After a 10 minute battle on Pe5 he lands a Solid barrel on jig. Very Jealous of this capture.Good stuff Tim!
We then lost a number of jigs to macks which were also around in good numbers. I remember John saying to Tim,"How Much is this Slide actor?". "About thirty Bucks". "ok if i loose it ill pay your accommodation".John drops down,Crank Crank, snip! Shortest loan in history.
I was using a lamble and got snipped so threw on a old 160gram Sacrafice leaf for 2 drifts and got nothing. So thew on a old lamble bait and hooked up solid for 5 minutes to something large but was then snipped again. They sure love the quality goods!
Off to our next spot which produced lots of quality pinks-released
Daz with the first Dhu of the day-Released
More Pinks-released
This time on a piece of Yellowfin! ha ha
John Then hooked up on somthing solid which went on several screaming runs.None of us were paying a lot of attention as we thought he had just hooked another sambo. That was until the fish started surfacing 15 mters out from the boat and we all knew what was coming....
100cm Dhu on Pe2 and a New Pb for John beating his previous pb by 2 cm. This fish was also well cared for and released. Good stuff mate!
Not to be outdone whitey Jigs a Solid Trout. The first He has seen in Jurien and he was stoked!
Daz and another nice Dhu-Released
Last drop of the Day and one more honky for me on placcy-released
Well that was a case of second time lucky as i had already spent an hour loading this only to have the system crash right at the end.
It was the best day of fishing i have been involved in for the shear variety and size of the fish landed. We also accounted for Baldies,Blackass,Slimey mackeral,Sambos and Ambers.
To add to that spending it with a good bunch of mates made the day a breeze and super enjoyable.
Thanks again to Whitey. He never fails to deliver
Chris

Glad you enjoyed the report
Glad you enjoyed the report boys. Chris Raff- Yes, i believe that the hump on pinks is relative to age.The older the fish the more time the calcification has to build up on the bone.Ive been having a stellar run lately with the fishing trips, i have family in albany so it passes as a "family" holiday with a side of fishing.

cracking report guys - you killed it
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

You still can have your days
You still can have your days where the fish are no co-operating, like anywhere. None the less a bad day in Jurien is usually better than a good day in perth.
