R Mc is my daughter and caught this fish over a year ago 31/3/13. She did the deco stop to allow the fish to self vent at around 5m depth and that simple action that takes less than a minute meant that this fishes survival rate percentage increased dramatically. 80mm growth in a year meant Joel (whoever you are) not only has one of my fishing spots in his GPS 
, but also managed a legal size dhuie for tea.
Take care of your undersize fish guys and we can all enjoy a much bigger average size fish in the future.

How do you go about reporting
How do you go about reporting a tagged dhui, a few months ago I caught a tagged dhu at rotto, called fisheries and gave them the details but that was it? Never learnt anything about the fishes growth or any other details?

Each tag has a number on it
Plus a telephone number to call and report the recapture. Fisheries themselves don't necessarily run the tagging programs, its ANSA and Westag that I tag for.
