Another tackle store break in
Submitted by DanB81 on Mon, 2014-05-26 08:35
Morning Everyone,
Just read that a Scarborough tackle store (Bluewater??) was broken into early this morning with about 30 high end reels stolen. Keep an eye out for dodgy dealings
Cheers

If these guys know what they
If these guys know what they are looking for then they obviously have a market. I would say over east of even overseas. They surely wouldn't be dumb enough to try and sell local.Pricks!

I agree , selling it on gumtree etc , would be too risky , It would be heading over east.

2nd this year
But there has been a spate of these burglaries Australia wide which would appear to indicate that the gear is being shipped offshore or it would have surfaced by now through ebay or gumtree setting off alarm bells - the damage they do costs almost as much as the tackle stolen !

it would be to fill orders
it would be to fill orders overseas or the like, you won't be seeing these reels in the local circuit

"Oh crap
Remind me not to "do" that store again. Bound to be caught
"
This is getting ridiculous. We the consumer will end up paying as the Insurance Companies will slug the shops a premium. And they will have no choice but to pass on the cost.
I wonder what Ryan T's insurance bill looks like.
Does seem professional and organised, as only top end stuff gets nabbed. That might mean less stores have top end stuff eventually because thats the target.
How many now in the last few years. I know Rockingham has been hit at least twice because I was there talking to the boys a day after the last one. Fortunately the Sustain I ordered and picked up wasnt "high end"

Really?How about we blame
Really?
How about we blame the thieving scum instead of the tackle store owner, his wife or the cops.
i think this post was intended to highlight the reels that might be on the market and for us all to keep an eye out...

Hang um high , no seriously
Bet the high end , huge tackle shops in singapore dont get knocked off,( get the rope ready)
but of course as the do gooders always say , punishment doesnt stop crime,
or does it?
My long standing therory is the cops and lawmakers , dont want to actually stop all petty crime
as crooks will be crooks , and if knocking gear off every now and again wasnt avail to them , Perth would prob
be like south afr, car jackings , murder for a wallet etc etc.
All the well to do people ( money wise) can afford the best cars with top end security , and live in houses protected by
alarms , cameras, secure , gated parking etc etc, so nothing really gets done as there not effected as much,
although there was that minister ( joe francis I think) who,s place got fleeced recently by some drug dude.( expect law reform very soon !!!!)

I'm pretty sure the business
I'm pretty sure the business was alarmed, locked up and secured and they still got done over...I'm missing your point quad fisher ?
by saying the cops want more crime is a highly un educated statement and comparing aw to South Africa WTF??!!
cops don't make the laws or set the punishments, it's the politicians and the courts that decide that, not police.
It's a frustrating society we live in and unless the punishments increase for these scum, it's just going to keep happening and we are the ones who will suffer.

Yep You got my point.
Like you said the place was prob like fort knox , but because the gain for the petty thief in Australia is greater than the punishment ,
it was worth it. I also never said the police wanted more crime, I was implying they take the lesser of 2 evils , if you get my drift.
The "cops "also includes the police minister , the commiss, the top brass etc , and I just dont see them ( or the pollies) making enough noises or actions
to really target petty crime.
There are I believe approx 5000 cops in Wa , how many come running when your house or place of work gets done over?, and yet witness how many
were seen at that chogm meeting a few years back, or when a outlaw mc club visits.
I dont have a problem with the foot soldier cops , indeed they have helped me out on occasions, bloody hard job , more power to them.

Police minister is Lisa
Police minister is Lisa Harvey, I would have thought noise would be made considering the Harvey's own tackle stores that are broken into for these reels

shoot them.... The Singapore
shoot them.... The Singapore model works like quadfisher said.
These people with multiple offences shouldnt be offered a chance for a second or third strike.

Lets not rush to conclussions
With the current thoughts being that the reels are destined for eastern states or over seas, lets pause a minute and look at things.
May be, just may be the person/s who did this did it for themselves.
They could be "keen" bastards who want top end gear and a good supply of the stuff. I'm not real (excuse the pun) clewed up on what top end gear is, so if a list could be put up people like myself without good knowledge of top shelf reels can become aware of what went then you/we can keep your eyes and ears open.
Just a thought.
I agree that this is the type of thing that forces the price of things up as the shop owner is no doubt going to find his insurance premium going up.

not good at all. to loose 21k
not good at all. to loose 21k in reels realy would hit the purse strings, yeah sure the insurance would pay up but how long and the premiums will go up as well .
dont like the chances of getting the crooks. they knew what they were after and the value.

Insurers pay very quickly
But you can bet that limits will be reduced, excesses increased and premiums for the tackle industry as a whole will undoubtedly and markedly increase so yes, you, me and all the fishing fraternity will pay in the long run
Be that as it may if we want these great tackle stores to remain in business in the face of continuing adversity, stores which provide truly professional advice and assistance, we need to support them with our dollars NOT (no matter what the savings) spend via the net to buy potentially stolen goods..............might certainly explain why some of these seemingly amazing and cheap deals available online might be achieved ?

I can't see them on line
Selling them without boxes, I don't think they would have time to find boxes as well
All the reels would be behine glass doors and boxes store all over the shop
Hope they catch them soon

When the buying stops
The stealing will too
Since we are up on our collective soap boxes blaming everyone take a look at your collective selves.
They sell these reels to someone and that someone is you.
Its because they are easy to sell to a wanting market that makes these reels targetted.
The buy sell sections of many forums is full of reels for sale. Are they all legit. I dunno, but each add is flooded with guys flocking to buy.
If you take the moral high ground and insist on proof of purchase its no worry to the seller as a dozen other eager buyers are lining up
Cops do check forums such as this looking for who is selling what, I know that as a fact as I have had an item siezed as it turned out to be stolen, goodbye a $1000, so I ended up the victim too.

Talk for yourself mate. Most
Talk for yourself mate. Most of us would have the nous to determine who is a scumbag selling stolen gear.I only buy second hand gear from long term members on here or reputable sellers on ebay. But I agree with your point that as long as these turds can turn over the gear there will always be a market. We as a collective on this site can get the word out a little and keep our ears to the ground. So let's be proactive and do our little bit eh!

for all the whinging going on
about coppers not taking it seriously etc etc, how do you guys know if someone hasnt already been charged with a recent break in at a takleworld shop ?![](http://fishwrecked.com/sites/all/libraries/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/wink_smile.gif)
You dont get told everything that goes on. Doesnt mean that stuff isnt happening and cops arent doing their work.
but people have to have something to whine about even though they may not understand the workings of things and why things are done in the way they are.

whinging?
So expecting more to be done to protect tax paying , and law abiding citizens from the relentless
robberys and house breakins , as per those statistics I posted , is whinging is it?
Esp in the face of bottomless pits of money and resources, that govt,s seem to find for new unwanted quays
or overseas junkets ( troys light rail fiasco) that occur on a regular basis.
I totally agree that front line cops need more support, they state that only too often , and with out it, and with the new
toe cutting type measures, that are happening federally ,( no dole for 6 months etc etc) expect a increase in crime ,
lets hope its not your business or home that gets targetted aye?

7 years prison minimum I think for 3 committed burglaries and or inclusive sexual assault or aggrevated assault while committing.

You can't have it both ways quad fisher !?
Read your previous texts, you continuously are bagging the coppers and the politicians in the same breath then back peddle when challenged.......your not a blood sucking lawyer are you ?.....?
I think this post was put up to let everyone know there are another batch of stolen Stella's, Saltigas etc out there on the black market again, not to start slating about the crime rates and punishments.
anyways, this is a fishing forum so let's all go fishing....

I've given up on the cops protecting anything
Only way in to my place will get you badly hurt by my mates.
Two very protective and nasty 50 and 60kg mastiff crosses.
No one would dare come in our place uninvited or unescorted cause these dudes will sort you out very quickly.
Just a confrontation at the gate will have you gone in a flash
They might eat 2.5kg of meat a day but no insurance needed at my place.
My guns and hi end fishing gear are very safe. LOL

Either way you'd have to be one dumb crim to reply/show up to sell the reel..

next time
the next time I park my boat on the front lawn I am borrowing two of catalittles tibeten mastiffs nobody but nobody will be going near it if they are attached to it , I have all the sympathy in the world for the tackle shops that get done over but its time they had a couple of big snarling dogs left in them over night , lots better than paying big bucks for monitored security system that has there blokes turn up after the job has been done
