Anti fatigue mat

G day fellas well after having back surgery a couple of months ago and not being able to fish for a few months before that the time is getting close for me to venture out again. After going through major pain as you would understand i want to avoid as much pain as possible not fishing is not an option. I browsed the web and came across a few options from the states ie footcush and a few others but was wondering if there was anything local available specific to boats o don't want to cover the whole deck just the helm area. Any suggestions? I was thinking of cutting up an anti fatigue mat but they r quite heavy.
Cheers Willo

Yep, I ruptured my L5/S1 disc
Yep, I ruptured my L5/S1 disc 3 years ago, not fun. Still numb foot and pain down the leg but I use a high density foam matt about an inch thick under my standing position and it makes a huge difference
Bought it from the thieves at Clark Rubber. Light blue colour very high density (and high cost).
Boston Whaler 235 Conquest......getting the flogging it was built for.

Ive got back disc issues as well
and have found those gel heel pads you put in shoes help - i put two in a pair of good running shoes with a thick well padded heel - one on top of the other (they stick together then stick in the bottom of the shoe) helps to absorb bumpy ride on the boat and from memory not expensive

Applied Industrial Technologies
Applied are the local distributor for Goodyear/Continental and sell fatigue matting. They should be able to order it in to suit your needs if they don't have it in stock. They have moved from Rivervale to Welshpool, and yes, I used to work for them.

Thanks for the feed back guys
Thanks for the feed back guys , John you have the exact same injury as me. Have you had an op ? Anyway I have decided to go the anti fatigue mat cut in 2 with a piece of blue foam as the meat in the sandwich , all bought from the rubber thieves cost about $100 all up but that's a small cost to save a crook back .

Im coming to Bumbury to dive with Red tomorrow , I'll bring a piece of the shock absorber i put in the helm area of my boat .its just an off cut but may be what you want to get .We may be able to get you some from the asylum.. makes a big difference on the feet & back from reduced shock .
