Any idea's?

Hi guy's

Has anyone got any idea what may of caused this hole in my boat in where i can get it fixed. Its 5.5m ali with a sealed floor.

Have just had a new motor fitted and was out running it in when the boat became heavy and hard to get on the plane, found the reason easy enough when washing down and water poured out when opened the bung(alot), previously have never had any water come out from the bung. Very disappointed to say the least have had the boat for 6 years and the hull is 10yrs old its a great boat hence why the new motor was purchased for it.

Any help will be appreciated.

corrosion/ electrolyses

cut it out/clean it up, inspect the cavity, and have a patch welded in it then grind the welds down and it should be sweet.

i used some jewller's' files to remove all corroded material

Then used two part defcon putty to patch

Sets so hard that you culd drill though it

However looks like that hole is nastier, i would be giving james a call.

There is definitely an underlying issue, as James has said... Possibly something earthed to the hull or a lead sinker in there or something... I'd be going with James' offer

I was in a boat that did the same thing once and it turned out to be a broken drill left in the hull during manufacture.
