any one know a mobile trailer mechanic

have a problem with my boat trailer brakes. Every time I put my foot on the brake pedal the left hand rear caliber locks ups and won't unlock without persuasion.

So I can't move the boat without leaving everything disconnected. I would say caliper needs to come off and over hauled. Pain in the butt.

Anyone know of a mechanic who could help would be great.

Cheers

Craig

Have you loaded it with crc or wd40. If your slioghtly mechanically minded they are not that hard to play yourself.

same as sandbar, have a go at it bud, you will be surprised at how straight forward they are, very basic mechanical operation. As with all trailer parts / maintenance it is worth learning in case you have a drama on the road. Back yourself and give it a try.

push the brake pedal until the plunger pops out then just clean it up with a bit of fine wet and dry or a scourer ,then clean the old brake fluid out and any rust build up around the oring ,replace oring if its gone hard then check your slides are free and clean then undo the bleed screw and push the piston backin reasemble onto the disk and bleed the brakes ,shouldnt take anymore than an hour

your pad has worn unevenly this can cause the piston to jam as its not parrallel in the housing which means new pads

 are they hydraulic or mechanical?

Mechanical (cable) are easy to work on, hydraulic a little harder.
