Anybody had / have a polycraft?

looking for some feedback from owners of polycraft boats.
How long have you had them?
Are they really as good as the advertising let's on? Tough and smooth ride? How is the stability at rest?
Do they flex around a heap?
how is the maintenance?
I have done a bit of a search, but just looking for a bit more upto date info.
I have seen a wicked deal on Gumtree for one.

Poly boats
not a polycraft but had a poly boat.
i rated it very highly, they are basically indestructible and are pretty much not affected by uv (sun) mine did flex a bit but the ride is very soft and the flex wasn't annoying, they are basically maintenance fee the material used is better quality than your wheelie bin and look at the punishment they get..
the only down side i could find was that if you scuff it up or scratch it that's the way it stays you can't polish it out.
Hope that helps !
My spots are so secret even the fish don't know about them !

Snap em both up absolute
Snap em both up absolute bargain , 1000 hits since being listed yesterday on boat and car .. sounds a bit too good to be true therefore can’t help being a bit suss . If you get dibs on it make sure there’s no money owed and the paperwork matches up .

my poly
had one for 3 years - very happy with it.
5.99, cuddy cabin.
Yes, they are exceptionalyl stabekl at rest - won my little tuckers confidence after the roll at rest he experienced in our previous Stacer 485 runabout. Feels like sitting in your loung when at sea.
Flex in mine is almost imperceptible, possible cos shes the bigger hull and possibly also because has foam fill betweent he poly skins.
Maintenence is near zero ( just need to get the fishy smell out for family cruising / tubing!)
Good hardware.
Negative point; not the dryest of rides, putting clears up keeps the helm area dry but water runs over the gunwals intot eh back of th boat when conditions are wet.
Not much, never been a threat or handling problem but gear / people at rear will get wet in these conditions.
But is very dry when not "wet" conditions.
I reccomend the poly's ( infact, I marvel that there are not more of them around - I reckon it is mainly due to western aussies just not being familiar with these boats and being reluctant to step outside of the box)

i owned two of them. A 4.1
i owned two of them. A 4.1 side cosole punt and a 5.3m centre console.
For a no bullshit boat they are great, easy to modify, ride smooth but can be a little wet when choppy but if the nose is up she loves it. you can treat them like crap and they just bounce back. make sure it has max HP on the rear as theya re a little heavy and conservative on the recommended hp. as for scratches maintenance is easy! get some sandpaper and rub it back going for a finer grit to finish then give it a wave with the heat gun until it goes shiny and it's all gone!
As it has been said, how much do you beat up your wheelie bin? they are maybe 3mm think, a polycraft is 10mm thick and mine have all survived the pilbara sun. just be sure it's on the correct trailer.

Owned a 5.3m frontrunner
Owned a 5.3m frontrunner polycraft for about 18 months. It was a solid boat and stable at rest. It was though a very wet boat and a bit of a rough ride. Now have a 6.5 ali which rides much better.

So, seems a little bit good
So, seems a little bit good to be true, it is.
Oldmate 'forgot' to put on the ad that the new owner will have to take on 19k of finance along with the 8k asking price, spread out over the next 2 and a bit years, similar story with the Ute, just a bit more owing. That's a whole lot of hassle, and don't know where that number got pulled, but 27k is a fair bit of coin to be throwing about, a fair bit different to 8k!

Probably gonna see lots of
Probably gonna see lots of this with the mining crash and mass job lay offs. My brother at Chevron reckons round 2 of job cuts in gonna be just as, if not more, brutal. Great time for me to be saving up for a boat
Officially off the Pies bandwagon

same story here, reckon I
same story here, reckon I might have to drop $500 on the table, and pay the boat out for him, not a great time to be selling a boat urgently!
