Went out Friday with the family. Had a late start and went to a snapper spot in the sound to flick out some plastics, got one nice tailor which was released. Headed out to the FADs but only made it to about 2 nm off the west end before deciding to turn back as the swell was on the bad side of 2.5m and sam west was pushing the 20-25kn mark.
Saw some Tuna jumping and I mean jumping like they were in fear of life itself as well.
So on Saturday decided to head out again this time staying in for a squid. Earlier start than Friday so went straight to the snapper spot but no luck. Went for a few squid but they were not co-operating at all. My young fella (Fish) caught a cuttle fish and dropped a squid. Did some miles for them with no luck. Ended up heading to rotto and pulled the pots for 5 crays before sammy west started carrying on again.
