Anyone played with Simrad S2009?

I'm thinking of going to a Simrad S2009 as a dedicated sounder and just wondering if anyone has used or seen one in action? The price looks pretty decent but the details are a bit scarce. Seen a few replies over at thehulltruth but just wondering if any fishwreckers have the info?

Can't use dual cone tranny

Mon, 2016-08-08 15:14

I have read some good stuff about the B175H and also seen some good results using the B75H (my budget won't stretch to 1kw at this time).

No point using a dual cone tranny like tm275lh as the sounder is single channel not dual channel. Depending on how it is wired it would only be connected to one cone or the other.

I was dealing with Luke

I was dealing with Luke Chivers from site sponsor Chivers Marine when i was setting up my boat with electronics , hes an absolute tech guru. We were throwing around different ideas and he asked me to hold off making a final decision as he was getting this model in the store in a few days time that was suppose to rival furuno and he would hook it up to his boat and give it a run and get back to me. He was extremely dissapointed and didnt reccomend it at all. Might be worth giving him a buzz for more detail

s2009 with ss164

Wed, 2019-09-11 14:52

Hi

Opening this oldish thread to ask if anyone has used an s2009 with a ss164 transducer. I have an ss164 connected to a lowrance HDS8 gen 2 and it only uses 500 watt of the ss164's available 1KW, so thinking of getting an S2009 and using the Lowrance purely as a chart plotter

Thanks for any replies

Cheers - Eric
