Asian paddle crab

im almost 100% sure that this is an asian paddle crab was caught in bunbury by a mate im waiting to see the crab mate still has it alive whats everyones thoughts??

The numbers have it
Go to the fisheries site under bio security , it says must have 6 spines between the eyes and shell spine , looks like your mates has more
muddys have more than 6 .You cant go on colour, as the the bloody pests seem to come in all colours.

As the previous posters have said, its most likely a small muddie with all those spines. They have been turning up in the south western estuaries a bit over the last couple of years.
The Asian paddle crabs have 6 spines across the front and 6 down each side.
As quad has said, don't go on colour as they seem to come in pretty much every colour you can think of.

If you want Fisheries to have a good look at it there are contact details on the flyer, just send in a photo.
Make sure you take a photo from the right direction; right over the top of the body so you can see all of the spines across the front and down the sides.
Don't forget that muddies still have a legal minimum size :)
