Lines are bright moving objects...Meteorites? I dunno, aint no space-man, not sattelites, there are 6 0f them in this shot....The famous Asteroid flew over at 5:10AM... got a shot of that but boring.

Awesome!    No damn skyglow in that spot ;) Dark skies.

What setup are you running? Tracked shot I presume for a 25s exposure? What camera/lens?

Awesome shot. I can't pick all 6 up on my IPad but aside from that the shot is brilliant!

Can produce a 4K image for future sales in the motion picture industry....whilst still having high quality "frame grabs"...win win

Fathom do you do much of

Sun, 2013-02-17 17:49

Fathom do you do much of this? I was pretty keen on it years ago. Have you got any more pics of this stuff you would be happy to share? I always wanted to get a good shot of the Orion Nebula, the Crab Nebula and the Pleiades. Got any of those?

I do a bit

Got more pics I could share but wouldn't have a clue what I'm actually photographing, just got a merlin tele tracker today which is a go-to mount, can program it to "go to" a particular planet or such and track it, if I wanted but have another use for it.

Interesting

Not sure, but I suspect that global warming would have something ot do with it...

Seems to be the reason for everything else......

6??

Mon, 2013-02-18 14:16

Originally battled to see 6. Then got them (I think)

But now I can see 8? My eyes started playing dot to dot.

Brilliant shot.

Awesome picture!!! Those

Mon, 2013-02-18 21:38

Awesome picture!!! Those streaks could be small meteors or bits of space junk burning up.

Thanks for sharing how you captured this photo. I've yet to try high ISO...but my point and shoot max out at ISO 400. At best, I've just been playing with some constellations with 15 sec exposure at ISO 400.

Maybe time for an upgrade for me...
