back from broome :-(
Got back from Broome Monday night a little bit brown and a little bit tired. Had ten days of searching and hunting the creeks and offshore off Broome. Went crabbing a few times with the nets and caught a few crabs each time and had a afternoon walking the flats with a hook and managed two massive crabs was a little slim pickings where I was but was happy to get two.
I had sent fw memeber Marky a pm before I went up there but he was meant to be working fortunately for me his work got cancelled for a few days. So we arranged a day offshore in his tub. I managed to get a few fish crossed off my catch list that day I got my first spaniard off a boat first cobia first barracuda and it was a hugecudda but snapped him off before the sharks got him or he jumped in the boat but the highlight was the the northern mulloway a first for markys boat aswell I have caught a few normall mulls but this was as good as a first for me and the fight of the fish and the six sharks that were chasing him was something ill remember forever. Big thanks to Marky for such a great days fishing. hope u can get that trout your after mate
my girlfriend and I took our friends kids for a fish up dampier creek and besides the fact that I didnt get much fishing time and I was cotinually baiting and rigging and casting their rods to see the smile on their faces when they caught fish was pricless they were mainly catching cod but they got a few small mangrove jack and travelly they had a ball and im sure their dad will be hassled every weekend now to take them up the creek sorry Spud. my girlfriend got sick of watching them catch all the fish so she had a few casts and managed a nice mangrove jack 'SHE GOT THE JACK'. So then the kids didnt want too leave till they got a big jack like aunty darls, no such luck but i managed to steal a rod for long enough to get a nice sized flathead that joined the jack for dinner. just hope its not to long before i can get up those creeks again and maybe catch my first barra.
But as I sit in my lounge room with my uggies and a blanket itching my sandfly bites I can only wish it was broome time every day
