Back from Kalbari:
Geez it's really busy up there- All Caravan Parks are fully booked, turning away caravans who haven't booked a site.
Witness a few happenings: Two boats came to a mishap coming thru the rivermouth crossing.
Both boats ended up washed up onto the reef/rocks. Lucky all people escaped with a few scratches. Boats had to be dragged off reef by Sea Rescue.
: Drove out to the new Kalbarri Skywalk- well worth a visit, very well done. New road out there is brillant. Witnessed the first illegal base jumper from the Skywalk. Scared the shit out of us as he jumped, shook the walking platform. Balls of steel or just stupid!
Tangles was flatout with the Fishing Charters and Whale Watch- no shortage of money being spent up there.
Great few days away- still heaps of caravans and boats heading up on our drive back.

Everywhere north was crazy
We were in Exmouth for the school holidays. It was school-holiday like in June, the couple of times I had to visit from Winderabandi, then the holidays....Police had to be called at the bakery. The staff were trying to get people to observe at least a semblance of some social distancing, but people just kept crushing in. Parties going on to the small hours, police called. My personal opinion, and I'll likely get flamed for this, is that the Bali Bogan crowd were looking for outlets for their often clueless behaviour. Internal tourism is great, up to a point, but you get a lot of people who will drag their selfish, often execrable behaviour all over the state, rather than export it. Kalbarri had it's share of this, too.
Of course, local businesses had a lot of lost ground to make up, and packed venues won't give them back all they lost. But it certainly helped. A friend has a large accommodation business in Kalbarri, had never been fully booked for June, July, and into early August, before. I told him what we were paying for a room at the Potshot, and he said he should have put his prices up, too.

Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

I think you are referring to Broome
But it could just as easily refer to Kalbarri's main street. At least, as a treet, it isn't that long. The sudden stops and impulsive turns are the worry.
