BBQ'd Ugly Stik
I bought this rod in 1995 after a devestating house fire that left me with all I had on and that's it! Naturally, this rod has some sentiment to it and means a lot to me. It has winched and popped and tossed, been thrown around everywhere and still remains faithfull to me. So; it's time for a makeover.
I'm using my BBQ spit turner to do the trick here. A new coat of clearcoat greatfully sold to me by the boys at the Tackleshack (at great expense may I add LOL).
I will post pics of the results in the next day or so.
Oh, BTW. Mad Fish is a secret ingredient to home improvent efforts by me....

last pic is the end result. It didn't take much to bring the old girl back to life. Just a bottle of red to steady the nerves :)

Cheers Russ! Thanks for the tip.
The wine is for me FFS ! LOL.
As for the rod.. Well, a bit of TLC and expensive lacre. A smidgen of heat from the heat gun.
BTW, my BBQ is out of gas so no chance of ever-roasting ;)
