BCF or just Rogues

Talk about being ripped off (potentially)

Went into BCF this morning to get a few sinkers (Size 16)

They had them at the inflated price of $43 for a pack of 5 and the make was Rogue.

You guesssed it I never got my sinkers.

I went in for a 32mm nylon skin fitting the other week. Then for 4x 6mm saddles...they had neither, or sizes around.

BCF

Mon, 2014-05-05 20:11

you would think bcf would have learnt a few things by now , but they haven't crap service , rip of prices , rude staff know wonder they are losing customers in droves , customers are realizing that its far better to go to dedicated tackle shops for their gear and advise

I reckon they rely completely

Mon, 2014-05-05 20:16

I reckon they rely completely upon the "uneducated" customer.... I have shopped there in the past, try to avoid it now....
they target the mums and dads wanting to get into boating, fishing or camping for the first time.
when these customers realise their staff know jack shit..... their prices are crap and their service sucks... then they head to the stores that can actually answer questions properly....

tried singles on your trolled minnows Andy?

Might miss the occasional hit and less prone to foul hooking on this outside of the face/gill plates.

But when they go in they don't come out. Hook Bills a hell of alot better too

Decoy Sergeant singles 6/0.

If your putting them onto a Halco (laser pro 190?) change the split rings too, personally not a fan of their 'fish rings'

The're a salt water fly fishing hook. If you have dramas getting the lure to track properly after changing to singles, put the treble back onto the rear - this seems to get them to swim true again.

Still swear by Halco

Tue, 2014-05-06 08:07

But with every lure out off the packet I always watch the swim next to the boat at troll speed (As a matter off fact I do this automatically with every troll set up). If OK release and let it do its thing.  Even the very exxy lures out off the packet may need a tweak or 2, usually only slight adjustment of the tow point.

meh

I would prefer to use them beind a good aussie company but the amount of time you waste straightening lures after a hook up, striking weed or even straight out of a pack = less time trolling.  They need to get with the times all good bibbed minnows have attachment points on the bib that are HD

Possible need a few tweaks more than other - not sure

Tue, 2014-05-06 14:40

But have used heaps and heaps of different types up off dampier (a bit of a colour lure fanatic _ Oohh that looks good, Ill grab a couple). Now have about 2-300 and down metro cant use them as much so now the collection of various whiting lures is groing at a unsustainable rate!!!!

I still adjus all my lures if needed.

Strike rate I still rate Halco esp Crazy deeps way up there. Not such a fan off some of the other Rated lurs as other. But love the R2S trihos. My goto 2m lure, and certainly the top lure for casting at mantas with cobes around.

But horses for courses.

PS: Spread - 2 halcos Crazy deep short corners 8m and 12m, 2 2m divers long corners 18m and 22m, long surface shot gun, either popper or skipping stick at 30+m. Always worked for me. Place the daisy in the middle, and the Witchdoctor flasher just short on the 8m short corner

Yep still a big fan of the laser pro 190dd , I take 15 in the King Brown Pattern to Fiji with me every year , I run the inline single hooks on em , either the VMC 7266 or the Decoy Jigging Singles .I can run them (most of them , do have a problem with some) up to 12-13knts with the singles on , which the Wahoo love. I run 4 lures in my spread including Marauders minnows and skirts , some times the king brown will take 4 or 5 in a row with ought the others taking a hit.
