Beach fishing at Club Capricorn
Submitted by orsijamo on Tue, 2009-04-21 23:04
Heading up to club capricorn at Yanchep on saturday with the family and some friends. I was going to wet a line if I got the chance, and am looking for some advice on what to target from the beach in front of the resort - and the best rigs to set up.
Was only planning to take some smaller gear for the kids and a smaller baitcaster setup with a 6'3 rod for myself.

There are plenty of herring there
Try getting hold of some small gangs and use a standard beach paternoster rig. If you can get hold of some blue baits put them on the gangs and you should get a few herring and maybe even a tailor or two.
Burleying up would be a good idea too.

whiting rigs with oxheart for the little ones... pick up sand whiting and the odd herring.
might be worth targeting tailor in the arvo. mate of mine landed a 60cm specimen last weekend. dunno if the baitcaster is ideal tho he caught them on a surf outfit and ganged mulie.
cheers hope i'm some help anyway
