Beach launching advice - Cervantes

Just chasing some advice on beach launching, in particular at Cervantes.

I've fished up there with the father in law for the last 20+ years, on his boat, lanched with either his 4x4 or tractor.

Looking at possibly heading up during the September school holidays for a few days to a week and want to take and use my 5.10 Trailcraft Freestyle.

My towing vehicle is a Commodore.

I don't have access to a 4x4 and the in-laws tractor is out of action.

I know they have a sailing club, based up near the cray processing jetties - is there a ramp at this location ??

Alternatively was looking at launching with the dunnydoor, but thought best to use a swing down spare wheel (on boat trailer) with rope extension to the towbar.

I remember seeing these featured on a FWA video many moons ago..

Can anyone point me in the right direction to purchase one ?

By using this method with the dunnydoor, do you feel I should be able to pull the boat out of the drink without bogging....(maybe use track plates under the rear wheels)

Looking forward to the replies..

cheers,

Paul

hi
i beach launched regularly at cervantes with a falcon and it was no problem, just dont linger when your pulling the boat out and avoid the seaweed,
extended drawbar is a good idea too as it keeps the car wheels out of the water
cheers

Its an awesome beach to launch at. The dropoff is so steep that when the tide was out, my trailer's spine was on the sand and the ute's rear wheels weren't even wet.

extended draw bar is the way to go . difinitley watch the areas that have the drop of areas and how far you commit yourself when retrieving, theres always other boaties around to help. if you want to no more info on the area speak to Roberta fishwreck, they live up that way for more info
