Used to use it in 90-100m all the time and have used it in 250m before.
Just a matter of having a plan on how to deploy it

good question though , Dropping berley where it isnt effective will take the fish away from you. remember the fish will go where the berley goes , so find a way to keep the berley where you are fishing, or keep it sparce enough that the fish will follow the trail up to the boat and your bait.

30 metres + no problems but

30 metres + no problems but depending on the strength of the current of course. Also sometimes use a berley bomb which I can fill and then lower down and give it a jerk to open the door dumping it near the bottom.

Cubing

Barneyboy was that off the west or east coast? I used to be an avid cuber off Sydney, it was my favourite form of fishing for sure. I tried it here years ago and battled to get the cubes past the mutton birds!!
