Best Rod Tubes

Hi all

Hoping for a bit of direction on a rod tube to take on planes. Heading to Broome again in April and will be taking up 3 rods between 6 - 9 feet. They will be two piece so probably need about a 5 foot tube to be safe.

My question is are there tubes out there for sale that will fit all 6 pieces safely or should I try build my own with PVC pipe etc. I have a cardboard tube that fits one that i used last year but was lucky it arrived in one piece as one of the ends buckled (thinking it got caught on the baggage collection belt) but I really want to take up a few rods so hoping others can recommend a good product or good way to build.

Cheers

Are you heading to Eco again?

Are you heading to Eco again? If so we may cross dates.

I made a PVC tube last year, put two 8ft rods and a jigging rod in it and it was perfect. no dramas or damaged rods.

I need to make a bigger one this year to take a larger spinning rod up. Your welcome to use my current one if the rods fit.

Rod Tubes

We have rod tubes here that are 1.9m (6'2) and 11cm in diameter (you get more rods in that compared to the normal size ie 7cm)

It is cloth covered, lined on the inside, hard PVC casing and padded both ends so your rods are safe.

Thats what we use for our rods re plane travel, $34.95 if that helps.
