Big Reds, Jacks, Snapper, Nannygai - Sounder & Underwater Pics - DVD preview

Hi all,

Been a while since I last posted a report as I have been very busy making a reef fishing DVD over here on the east coast. I made this DVD to be a learning tool for fishermen across Austrailia and many aspects of it can be used just about anywhere. It was an expensive exercise but I'm happy to help others achieve their very own trophy fish.

The filming could not have been captured at a better time with some real trophy fish being caught including Red Emperor over 15kg, Large Mouth Nannygai over 14kg, Snapper, big reef Mangrove Jacks, Samson, Blue Moari Cod and the list goes on. In total 20 different species were captured in 3 trips.

I also experimented with an underwater camera dropping it down on the fishing spots in depths of 45-65mtrs. The footage captured is truley amazing and really adds a whole new dimension to fishing. I have combined the underwater footage with sounder readings at the exact time to give people a better understanding of what they see on the sounder.

I won't put a million photos up of the fish we have been catching but just some of the better quality fish we encounted aswell as screen shots from the video camera of some sounder readings and underwater footage.

For more pics and detailed articles visit my website at www.wickedfishing.com.au The DVD can also be purchased from my website for $25 for those interested in seeing 117 minutes of quality fishing, tutorials and underwater footage. The feedback over here has been sensational so all the money and time spent making this DVD myself has been worth it.

Here is the DVD preview and I hope you all enjoy it.

Hi tot, We mostly use 80lb

Tue, 2012-08-21 10:31

Hi tot,

We mostly use 80lb braid with 10 mtrs of 80lb mono.  Seeing that reds are purely bottom feeders the paternoster rigs are by far the best option for red emperor. If the current and wind isn't bad then I will often use a 10 ball sinker sliding straight onto the hooks. When using this rig it is a must that you ensure the bait sits on the bottom at all times so this is why the paternoster is the better choice for red fishing.

We use ganged 7/0 mustard tarpon 7766's mostly but step up to 8/0's at times on the really big fish.

We do like to use big baits. Whole mullet fillets and Hussar fillets are a favourite but any large bait will be eaten by a red emperor.

Cheers

Greg

Those shots can't be real.  Had it been me posing with those fish, fizz would be coming out of my ears like a hot West Coast Wine Cooler shaken in the sun.  Video unseen, I'll be telling the boys at work to buy a copy, can't wait to receive mine, hot looking fish boys!

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Thanks for the comments

Thanks for the comments everyone

Also a big thanks to the many people who are ordering the DVD. I have sold a few to West Aussies over the past few weeks and the feedback was great. Hope you all enjoy it aswell.

The sounder pics always get people excited and finding new ground that looks like that is the biggest buzz I get on the water. I have played with the Furuno 585 a lot to get it reading like that and I'm only using a 600w thru hull transducer as well.

Cheers
