Thats a plump trout there! Very nice catch especially that far south! Do you get many trout around dongara? Planning a trip up there later in the year, might have to catch up for a fish!

Fat Trout

Tue, 2010-07-06 09:59

And I am positive it didnt go back. It would not on my boat that is for sure.

Yum Yum.

Mate I know your a big lad, so that is one big fish.

What did it drop the scales to because 5-6 looks a little low IMO.

Yer Goodz we catch a few Trout around here more than people think and if you are comin up this way for a fish hit me a PM im sure we could sort somethin out. An thanks Neels only weighed the big Trout quickly before it was dispatched and put on ice, it was around the 6kg maybe 7kg mark but hard to tell with lip grip scales in the boat ha ha.

Thought so mate

The only trout that go back on my boat is littlies, and bagged out ones. To nice to resist. And there is plenty of little ones out there.

You must have a good spot with that quality trout.

The ones I have been getting on SP up here in Dampier are legal to about 5kg max, and they seem few and far between. Then it might be the hopeless fisher or havent found the trout burger shop yet.

The fun is in finding the motherload aswell as the fishing.

Drift mate

Tue, 2010-07-06 15:53

Hi Paul 86 I don't anchor up much unless it's super windy or i'm chasing Pinkys or Sambos, I'd rather slowly drift over good ground or set the boat up to drift along a nice edge/drop off and I always fish light to get the bite.
