Blackwood/Augusta

I'm thinking about heading down to camp for a couple of nights next month and fish from the Alexandria bridge down to the inlet.
Just after some info on what this time of the year is like as we are usually down there after Xmas when the inlet is full of whiting. Is it too early for crabs?
What can we expect to catch and what sort of gear will we need to get them.
Chers Mike

Hi maximracer. I was down at Alexander bridge a couple of weeks ago and there are still some nice black bream hanging around. Threw a few sp's and hardbodies but they weren't interested so switched to river prawns and that seemed to do the trick. Fished the mouth in Augusta a couple of times over the last two months and all I seem to keep pulling in are tiny silver bream. Good luck.

Flooding
It might pay to wait for a bit as the Blackwood is in flood at the moment and may shut things down for a while with all the dirty water coming down! probably worth another check just prior to your trip? Good luck
