Boat transport

Gday folks,

I am looking to transport a 6 metre fibreglass boat from nsw to perth and instead of going to get it myself can anyone please give me some names/numbers

of a few crew that do it that are reasonably priced and even better if you have had a good experience with them?

I know it has been covered before but im having trouble finding the information i am looking for in the search section..

Thankyou in advance

Train

Maybe try the rail network they ship cars over all the time. I dont see why they could'nt stick it on a vehicle and tag it on to the back of a wagon. It would be quite secure attached to a car and strapped down.

Hi Mate,

I run a transport company & have Aust wide contacts/mates also that are truckies in NSW that come here weekly, get me the L x W x H and i will see what i can do as 6 meters of deck space on a road train isnt cheap.

Try calling some boat yards

Wed, 2010-12-22 21:44

Try calling some boat yards in NSW that advertise (freight australia wide). I got quoted a while back about $2,500. Boat's aren't easy as cars obviously. Otherwise, if you know of a contractor or subby transport operator, they might be able to back load it on a return trip.

I can't recall the name of the company that quoted, but it was through a dealership.

Do Yourself a Favour

Plough over now whilst the weather is cool and drag it back yourself. I did the trip a couple of years back(4) to bring back my 5 metre cat from Melbourne. Took 3 days to get to Hampton from Perth and then 3 days back via Mildura Hwy - its a great trip if you ve never done it.

I looked at all options. Including flying over and driving a hire vehicle that needed to be bought to WA and happened to have a tow bar. Road transporters will put it on the tray or if you want drag it behind their rig - that just scared the bejesus out of me when he said that he could do that for $3500+. Train was just off tap expensive. It would appear as soon as you step out side the normin these situations $ signs just start rolling around in their eyes.

I drive a 97 2.8 L T/Diesel Paj - the return trip in fuel cost just over $1400 compared with $5500 + depending on how you wanted to do the transportation. Cruise control was great, coffee and red bull plus comfortable sleeping arrangements & no risks. Mind you thats 4 years back so transport costs may be more expensive now than they were. If you don't want to go the whole way get the boat delivered to the border - ie Mildura. Good luck!

Wed, 2010-12-22 23:14

hey westline,

i used a company called cbc interstate transport to ship my 6.5m glass boat from brisbane to my door step in busselton for $3300.00.

the boat was trucked over and it took six or seven days to get across and they did an exceliant job no damage at all and for that price it is not worth the hassle to go over and pick it up. of all places i got the company off ebay there is a few of them on there.

his name was alistair and ph 0417 739 907

give them a call. hope that helps you

thanks rocky

Westline your not on the Finnmarken are you?

Saw it alongside in Dampier and it left yesterday.

I got a boat shipped from Broome to Gero a couple of months back, keep shopping around, dont think everyone will be much the same.

My quotes went from $1K to $5.5K and only to Perth. 3 weeks looking for someone and tried Stateships etc.

Then from info via a boat dealer I got $1K cash to hometown dropped at the offload ramp-chuffed

I think for safe and reliable transportation of your boat you should go for boat transport company. These people will transport your boat reliably and with utmost care. You can check boat transport service of vehicle shipping company online.
