Bream- Guilford to Bayswater

Hey guys just after some tips on catching bream from guilford down to bayswater. have been told lilac hill bridge and fishmarket reserve are the places to go, gave them a crack with some soft plastics but no luck. so just after some spots that are definately firing atm, and also what sorta of hardbody or sp works best in these areas and the best colours.

cheers sam.

Yeah the end of french st

Yeah the end of french st was the best spot last year, but over winter they (swan river trust and city of bayswater) have fix up the river banks and put in a new fishing platform at the end of the limestone stairs. With all this movement and what have you the bigger bream have moved further up stream near the limestone rocks a few 100 meters.

I live two streets away and fish that water most days

at the Guildford bridge - just across the river from Lilac Hill. Haven't fished there for a few years but prawns worked well.

Thanks for the spots fellas! went down to lilac hill bridge again this arvo and had some success. was there 5mins and hooked into one that easily would have gone over a kilo, was fighting with it in the snags for a good 5mins but the leader wore threw damn it. managed to land one that went 25cm but chucked it back. was getting bites constantly, just wasnt able to sink the hook into them. going back again 2moro arvo to try my luck again.

It is alwasy worthwhile trying around South Guildford where the Helena Rv flows into the Swan. I went last week and between a mate and I we landed 5 bream (2 size) and a nice flathead

Mate you can fish either

Thu, 2009-02-12 16:10

Mate you can fish either side of Kings Meadow Oval but I prefer downriver towards garvey park as the bream tend to be a little bigger

I usually fish with prawns at the start and then switch to sp when there's some action

if youre trying up at guilfor i have had no luck on lures and i fish there alot i just use bait now and if ur fishing there dont be scared to fish quite shallow waters were there is shade we caught 40 cm bream yesterday in less than a metre of water but get ready for a lot of bust offs there are some unstoppables there and dont play with them they are smart and they will brick you

Yeah I agree past garvey park - prawns are the go and you have to be on the ball or you will be busted off quick smart.

muriel street

Mon, 2009-05-25 05:46

i go down to a lil park of muriel every few weeks just for a change and a relaxing fish with a mate and few beers. we pull in about 2 or 3 that would clear 40 cms each time we go. the only problem is you get a shitload of small bites from bream about 5 cms lol. i have also picked up a trumpeter there that broke 30 cms, that was a good fight on 4 pound lol.
