bream session
hi guys, today me and lachieH (fishwrecked member) whent bream fishing with success. we first tryed fshing the sand flats, i lost a good sized flathead on a prawn and a running sinker, lachie was using softplastics. after about 45mins i caught a small bream. i then saw a school of about 15 bony herring chasing my plastic, mw and lachieH then went to a near by jetty and first cast our baits were getting harrased bye decent sized mullet, after catching heaps of baby bream i then caught 3 22cm bream, i then dropped a tiny piece of prawn down and got my pb swan/canning bream at 26.5cm, i was stoked! then lachie caught a 25cm one. after all it was a awesome day. sorry but this spot is secret and if u know were it is can u please not tell anyone as this is our new secret spot. we caught about 18 today.

Good effort guys
Good report aswell
There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

if you walk (or ride for us
if you walk (or ride for us lazy people) around to your left until you get to the next bridge there is some 40cm + bream just sitting there near the pylons... harder to get the bigger ones to take prawns though

There are bream all the way
There are bream all the way around there, personally i have found the more structure the bigger the fish, don't doubt that big fish have been caught there though. I aggree about the crabs, you also find them in the cracks in any limestone walls that happen to be right next to where you are fishing.... Personally back in the day when i was fishing for bream a 38 was never that hard to find, never got a 40cm+ though, only seen 2. One was a 42cm that my at the time best friend caught in my spot when i was rebaiting (typical) and the other was a guy recently at the narrows with a green gulp at night.... the thing was the same colour as the water and it got slammed by a 45cm monster that even had the bluge on the head!
While you are experimenting with bait they also love mussels, pipi's and fresh shrimp - you can get them all yourself for nothing and the blowies don't like them as much.
Happy fishing!!

What a great way to spend the day out in the sun giving the local bream population a working over.

I recognise that spot, fished
I recognise that spot, fished there quite regularly last summer. Didn't have a session like that though. Though picked up a few blue mannas in February off that jetty. Well done guys. I've been concentrating my efforts around Castledare Railway lately and keep getting let down
