broken bib - halco extra deep diver

my favorite XD 190 halco laser pro chrome pink isnt swimming properly. After several 'adjustments' to the take off points to try to correct it, I discovered the bib is cracked and loose.

is it worth trying to replace the bib? or just throw it and get a new one?

The bib is polycarbonate, bullet proof, literally. Never heard of that happening before.

Obviously...

...it's NOT bulletproof. Wait. Maybe it is. Has anyone tried firing a gun at a Laser Pro?

Buy a new one. What are they, $16-17?

Not bullet proof

Had a Halco deep diver used once was on the line in the rod holder and the Bib actually fell of. Sent it off to Halco and explained what had happened  they happily re-bibbed.

When it arrived it had been re-bibbed with a shallow diver bib on it.

Don't use Halco anymore

Yuzuri are choice of lure now, great lures swim great after being hit and get great strikes.

replace

if you have or can find an old stuffed deep diver just pop the plastic pin out n replace the bib. Unfort halco wont oroduce them cos everyone would be doing it! I often interchange different depth bibs on my halco colors

Have a few lying in the Dampier tackle bag and some off the colours I will never use again (no luck with them).

PS Tell the story off the afatar photo. Happened to me with a shark mack, but only one treble got into my thumb.

yep agree, works well as stickies, there is a plastic pin and can interchange/remove bibs but never seem to swim straight after surgery.

Mount on base board.

If its one of your favorite lures, keep it, put it on display for the memories and buy a new one.

Mon, 2015-04-13 15:59

Had the same thing happen to one of mine trolling along west end of faure last week. Threw out a shallow diver thinking it might have hit the bottom and got a massive hit which snapped my 50lb braid and almost my rod. Pretty cool though haha

 One of my chrome pinks

Mon, 2015-04-13 16:47

One of my chrome pinks melted in my tackle box and now looks like a pink banana (or a sex toy)! if you can get the bib off it's ours but it's a 2m+ only.  If not now i have a decent sized boat might put it in a spread for lols.

Thanks for all the good ideas guys and offers of old lures.  When I am back in perth I'll have a go at getting the old bib off and might take someone up on their offer of a replacement bib.

cheers
