burleying for snapper and dhus

How many of you guys actually anchor and burley for snapper and dhufish. Been told its very successful but still havent got around to do it yet and just find myself drifting or fishing pots.
Do you have to find fish on the reef first or can you basically just pull up to a reef and start burleying.
Also what kind of burley do you guys use. I was thinking mulies, any old bait, crab and pellets. Just got myself a meat mincer so was going to put stuff through that to make a mush.
How often are you throwing it down.
Cheers

anything will do as you have mentioned
can of snappy tom on the bottom, chicken carcasses, old spag. boag. etc,a constant stream of burly, good for behind the 3 mile, burly drifts into the reef structure and brings the fish out,do get some dhuies but mainly sambos, skippy, pinkies ytks some tuna, can burly deep as well, ideally need the burly going away from the boat not underneath,my 2 bobs worth
