Catching Bait?

you know when you see those schools of bait shimmering on the surface when you are out fishing, has anyone been able to catch any? if so how? cheers Pete

Hey Pete, I catch them on every charter I take out. Sabiki, Yakka or bait jigs will all work but by far the best are made by Owner in a pink shrimp skin #10, not the cheapest on the market but far superior.

Don't know if its all bull, but there was something in some mag about some kind of heavier jap sabikis that they hook the bait on as per usual and then wait for it to get taken by YTKs and the like, like lazy livebaiting.

i dont doubt that it works at all, because i had sabiki jigs rated at 40lb breaking strength, remember a while ago some shimano guy caught a marlin or sailfish on a sabiki jig.
