Cheynes beach

2 good mornings down at Cheynes with the boat. Heaps of fish around in close about 10min run out from the beach launch. First morning was good with quite a few fish and of couple of big bust off's.

second morning even more fish and a little dhu that went just over at 55cm which was a nice surprise and we let a lot of good fish go on the second morning as the esky was full I and had more than enough fish to clean.

Unreal!!

As above, much effort to beach launch?? Down there with the mrs for the first time after new years, still umming and arring about taking the boat down, would be a 610. I'd hate to have to try get it back on by myself with a bit of swell up!  Any info much appreciated.

Tides/weed/

this is where I mainly fish from (local), if the tides right and the weeds not in and the sands right you shouldn't have a problem, It can be extremely shallow and sometimes quite soft, weeds usually in around x'mas as it comes in with the east swells we get, then it's silly season also so it can get quite chopped up.

i personally don't bother at x'mas/new year anymore, to many people, I head out for the week over Australia Day when it's a little more quiet. Smaller the boat easier it is. I have 3m drawn bar extension and still have to winch it up dry at times.

good luck. The fish are there!

Don't think i'll bother, only passing through for a couple of days. Might stick to landbased.

It was a bit shallow but

It was a bit shallow but wasn't hard. My boat is only a 5.25m Ali and we had no dramas at all just have to watch the shallow ground wen getting out of the bay. N queenies were everywhere in the 25-35m.
