clean up your rubbish

Just back from a couple of hours fishing off mindarie rocks and I would ask the so called fishermen that use this area to clean up after they have finished. The place was an absolute disgrace with empty beer bottles, empty bait bags, and all kind of other shit left lying around. Come on guys play the game, we are fortunate to have some of the best fishing spots in the world so why not keep it as natural as possible. Having said that I hope that these so called fishermen are not part of this forum and I hope that I am not the only one who is of this opinion.

I normally spend half my time cleaning casting in the water to get rubbish out and put in the bin while im trying to fish and most people wonder why jettys and place get closed off to fishing because there's to much rubbish and other stupid shit like bins getting set on fire or people leaving tents in the water for some reason or seting them on fire.

ongoing prob as long as i can remember. been fishing all along perth coast since early teens {30 years} and things havnt changed. it doesnt look good at all from the tourist eyes at all. perfect coastal region ruind by mountains of rubbish. its usually the occasional fisho that couldnt care less. as funny as it sounds i have found the south mole the cleanest of all but still far from it

I agree!!!
The worst offenders who take trailer loads of shit past the tip to go dump it in the bush!!
I was beach bashing north of two rocks one day to see ppl fishing and havin a fat time on the beach....... In between their vehicles they had a stand up rubbish bag to collect their rubbish...... Kudos I thought till a couple hours later I drive past again to see the ppl gone and the bag still there!!!
I collected a dual cab hilux tray full of rubbish in a 10k stretch that day!!!
How hard is it?!? Really!?$?!?

It can be and is a disgrace
And all it does is give the anti-fishing kitten lovers another reason to bag fisho's. Imagine what would happen if photos of rubbish plainly caused by fisherman only splashed the papers. Wont be good.
Just spent a weekend in Karajini on a course and they have no rubbish bins. "What you bring in you take out", and I was very surprised that it appears to work (mostly). Even though the guides and rangers do pick up rubbish there was little that was clearly visualised. Only saw the odd ciggy butt and mostly in the car parks not in the gorges.
If that place can be kept pristine, then why not our beautiful coast.
Imagine if Cott, Scarbs or Trig started to look like Kuta Beach, full of plastic and other shiiite.

The other issue is throwing
The other issue is throwing fish frames and heads back into the water. I stand up paddle around and you always see big offshore fish frames and heads just chucked back in the water. Mostly in spots no where near the Jetty's. More like up around near the kiddies beach. So obviously fisherman are going home than coming back down and dumping the carcass in the drink. Not good

Coogee Woodman Point - Clean up!
Been going to Coogee Woodman Point for the past 3 weeks and what an absolute dump. Why would you leave empty beverage cans and takeaway coffee cups on the rock while there is a rubbish bin provided just metres away, on the way to your car?! Makes no sense at all.
