Imo, the afl should do away with this pissy preseason crap, go to a top four final series (semis and gf), cull some of the financially weaker clubs (perhaps have a second division with relegation) and make the home and away long enough so each team plays each other twice. Then limit the total number of home and away games any one player can play to 23... makes the clubs rest some of their players during the season and gives the younger kids some experience. Evens up the draw. Rewards excellence.....
Just my thoughts.

I've thought about this before, it's a good idea because There's probably 4 or 5 clubs that just shouldn't be in the comp IMO it's a joke.Maybe the second division could encompass WAFL, SANFL clubs etc. Make em a bit more hungry to get back into the elite league.
