Coral Crab? One for Glenn Moore Museum

Came from the Swan River last Thursday. Currently in mates fish tank and thinking of returning it back to where it was caught. Believe it to be a Coral crab and should it be returned or stay in the tank. Is a fair size angry crab.

Coral Crab is not an Asian Paddle crab

Interested to see if any one else here has caught one of these in the Swan. I did not catch this one but have seen it in my mates fish tank and as said it may be going back if it is the native Coral crab. Obviously won’t go back if it’s the Paddle Crab.

100 % sure it’s a Coral Crab, put it up to add a bit of interest to the forum, is a very good looking and angry Crab, think it’s a female looking at the carapace but not an expert in the field.

Definitely a coral crab. A mate caught one in the Swan at Applecross about 6 weeks ago.

I put it on Redmap for him, they responded that the one I put up was only the 2nd confirmed siting south of Sharks Bay. Download the app and put it on there too.

Had a feeling that it wasn’t that common down this way.
