A Couple of PBs
Submitted by The Saint on Wed, 2021-05-12 19:36
A couple of PBs from a trip to Shark Bay a couple of weeks back, one for my 12 year old grandson with a pinkie that went 70cm (his previous was around 68cm).
This one he managed on a rod & reel without assistance (last one was on an Alvey winch).
And a 66cm bluebone for myself, previous PB was WAY smaller !

Sure a 66 blue bone would have had you pondering what it was until you saw it, would have pulled serious string.

Well done to the young bloke for the pinkie. Would have been fun for him. That bluebone is a hooters. Couple of nice meals on the way

Well done to the young
Well done to the young bloke, good to see a kid hooking into fish like that.
Bluebone not too bad either, big ones like that seem to have a habit of getting back into the reef and leaving you with nothing but shredded line.

Cheers for the positive
Cheers for the positive comments.
Gotta say it's great to to see the young fella so passionate about his fishing.
My 3 boys do fish on occasions, but can pretty much take it or leave it.
The grandson is a different kettle of fish altogether, he lives it !
And SO competitive, he really dines out on taking bragging rights, especially if he outfishes his Dad.
The last day he was with us in Shark Bay we put in a long day, went out in the dark, came back in the the dark, lots of fish caught with the majority released.
We got back to our accommodation and before the boat was unhitched he had picked up his squid rod and headed down to the jetty to get some fresh bait for Nan and Pop. Gotta love that !
