Yep
Same in Dunsborough , lots of well undersized ones , if you put in a few hours you may scrape a few together.

Recfish report
The Recfishwest fishing report the West Coast Region that came out 05 August said there were good catches of blue crabs down Busso way. See report and web link below. Good luck

All the reports I've heard
All the reports I've heard Hezzy are bad. Guys I know that normally clean up are not getting any.
Let me know how you go if you go this weekend as I would love to take the kids out when they start.

Looking into my "crab files" that I built whilst down that way, crabs come on strong in May through to June / July and then fall away again until late September / October then go off again.

what did the boat you saw look like , it may well have been us around mid morning ? as there whernt too many out yesty
dale pretty much the usual larger jennies with a couple of blueys in the mix
not that many small ones , good rest between each check seemed to get us over the line

I used to go out in the afternoons, 3 to 3:30 in the winter, and 4 to 5:00 in the non winter months, that's when the crabs would be coming back, whether from out of the sand or out deeper, I don't where they go for their siesta's. Head out from the mouth of port geo, turn right and when you have given enough enough room for boat traffic going in and out, I'd start dropping my nets, once I dropped my last I'd go back and pull my first. Keep moving until you have your 15 or so crabs and do your last pull, putting away your nets as you go. Some days we had our limit in 2 runs, but most of the time we were back at the ramp with an hour or so.
