cracker of a day goes sour

had the oppurtunity to sneak out for a fish from mindarie today, cant believe i almost accepted the weather forcast and not go. started of around 9am in the shallows just messing about with plastics and found some good ground north. well it didnt take long up came a blackass 35cm released and a couple of whitting.

i hadnt planned on going out deep but i was keen once on the water, shot out to a couple of my spots for a placcy bash, good idea i reckon. i released 4 undersize dhuies 1 sized, 3 sized snapper and a sambo that surpassed my 120cm brag mat. kept 2 snapper one at 62cm and the other at 75cm, the 75cm snapper was missing half his tale so it debatable the actual size.

impressive ride home too

on a sour note my new favourite placcy combo thought it could swim and is now a the bottom of the indian ocean courtesy of the sea anchor rope . broke my knife and didnt raise the outboard leaving ramp  oh well s@#t happens still breathing and drinking beer

big cheers to the lad that yelled out to me about my outboard before any damage was done

heres a few picks i managed but as iam normally a solo fisher these pics are hard to get good.

thats the combo in the snapper pic

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Even though you lost the combo it looks like it was a cracking session. Just an excuse to shop for a new combo! Better get 2 in case another one gets away

Happened to me with a Stella 8000SW and Samurai Jig10. Not happy Jan. But as you say good fish caught, you are still alive and well, and can drink beer and the footy is on.

Well done mate. Reckon Id be a tad absent minded after a day like that, just busting a gut to get home to show of the catch and photos.
