if you are in the city the rocks at the deck chair cinema, fishermans wharf, stokes hill wharf, cullen bay stones , east point,

if you are out Palmo way then under the lizzie bridge, channel island bridge, rocks and Island its self, Howard springs bridge,

if your are out at the humpty doo area go down the arnhem hwy and fish the culverts,

and no swiming 

small flick stick should do you to cast metals 30gr smaller profile hard bodies and the usuall soft plastics, TackleBox NT would be about the middle of the tackle shop locations but all shops are pretty good,

weather has been a bit crap lately with more wet stuff coming.

If your keen.... you will find ways to walk into some of the harbour creeks and once you get it wired, its easy to pull a Barra, fishing the low tide and shallows that boats have to leave. Of course watch out for crocs but if you put the time in and work out your tides its not too difficult. One favourite spot was near a power station, on an Island from memory, wade out into the shallows and cast gold bombers or poppers, fizzers! Once the tide turned to come back in , It was time to go home. Buffalo creek is another favourite with the locals.

Jump on the ferry at Cullen bay and head across to Mandorah.
I haven't been there for a while and aren't sure if the pub got turned into a resort or not, but its good fishing off the jetty.
