daughters first fish
made the drive up to moore river on sunday to take my 2 years and 2 months old for her first fish. she has been practising her reeling in and is getting pretty good, although she can't cast yet. moore river was chosen as the destination as there seem to be lots of little fish around which is obviously the most important bit for kids - quantity over quality.
after i cast the line out i handed over to Laura and before too long she had her first fish. a monumental black bream of about 15cm. we ended up catching about six which she kept in the bucket for a minute or two each before releasing. didn't actually get a pic of any of the fish as my old man took a couple of photos on his camera, but you get the idea.
once i get her hooked i can justify buying a bigger boat
p.s. shoes and pants lasted about 2 minutes
p.p.s pretty proud of herself

Great stuff, my daughters
Great stuff, my daughters first fish was also a bream (around 8cm) followed by a puffer fish when we were in Noosa. She's now hooked.

Magic
Great stuff, look forward to seeing your new boat. Given she's a girl and has to sit down to pee, you'll no doubt want something around the 30 foot mark...with ensuite etc.

it`s good to get the young ones keen
and see them with a fishing rod instead of an ipad.

Top stuff Jarrid, doesn't get any better than that mate. I remember my all my kids first fish (fishes?) better than I remember my own. Cracking effort Laura, very well done.
Just because I smile & nod does not mean I believe the crap coming out of your mouth.

cheers guys. she is good fun,
cheers guys. she is good fun, was practising a bit of winding in with a soft plastic yesterday.
still a bit early to take her out anywhere decent (although she was in the tinny in Moore River), but given the colour our house is turning with her and her little nearly 4 month old sister i have no doubt her favourite fish will be pink snapper.
