Dawesville channel: info help please

 Doing a report on the dawesville channel

ie the construction of the cut, the system before the cut was installed, and the future of the cut

Keen to see if anyone can point me in the direction of some solid info,

or if someone has a unique perspective on the cut?

I believe the design of the cut being wide and shallow at one end & deep & narrow at other end uses hydraulic princples to try and flow the water out. How good it actually works when you take into account tides, wind & swell working against it is up for debate.
