I WILL BE IN DENHAM AT THE END OF THIS MONTH FOR 5 DAYS, CAN ANYBODY GIVE ME SOME ADVICE ON FISHING OUT OF DENHAM AND/OR BLUE MANNOR CRABBING POTENTIAL, SQUIDDING ETC. SHOULD I TAKE UP THE DINGHY OR THE 5.4M STACER? WORKING FOR TWO DAYS AND FREE FOR THREE DAYS, JUST TRYING TO DECIDE WHAT GEAR TO TAKE.

Just got back from Denham
Just got back from Denham last week
Go the 5.4 Stacer. I will give you better options.
Bent pin and bar flats are about 10nm out, Step point 32, and Turtle bay about 42nm. The last two are really only viable with good weather.
There was some good ground around the "Bent Pin", but we didnt do well as we couldnt get our bait past swarms of juvinile pink snapper. Though this is a good sign for the future.
Bar Flats was more productive with blue line, Pinkies, and Rankin on the bite.
Steep point was a bit slow the day we went out, with only a couple of fish bagged.
Levilian shoal, Turtle Bay, Cape Inscription, fired big time with macs, and an a good assortment of bottom fish.
Try Monkey Mia for crabs. Head up the coast to the pearl farm, and then keep going for about the same distance again. Try in the seagrasss and sand areas in about 3 to 4 metres. We got a couple of feeds around there.
Dont forget to pack a light rod and some squid jigs for the Denham jetty at night!

you would need a fair bit of fuel to get to steep point, and if it turns rough on the way back, it can take ages.

Thanks Mac. Yes I did get your PM.
Next visit I may have to try and work a bit more of the ground up the channel from the bent pin, as I didnt get the chance to give that area a fair go.
Not having seriously fished the area by boat before, it was a bit of a learning experience.

I take it that 6pins is in the channel where it widens after the neck, or is it in the open water NW of the channel neck?
I want to try around that general area again.

Well wth a bit of luck, I'm planing to go back same time next year, so I'll add 6 pins to my hit list.
Still trying to work out some areas on the Monkey Mia side of the peninsular. Tryed sounding around the channels off MM without much success. There are spots around there, but I'm yet to find them.
