Just started fishing out to around 70m to 100m in Perth metro and struggling to catch a dhu over 10kg. At what depth are people catching all these big kahunas on a weekly basis it seems

It's all about finding the spots. Seen 15kg models taken out of 10mtrs of water. You can get any size any where. I personally would rather catch the smaller ones as they taste nicer.

Similar to Little Johnny
Most of my big ones have come from 50m to 65m on coral bottom, without a strong current.

in general
40-43m gets hammerd and mostly med. size with few bigger ones ....60-70m. is good depth but hard to find ground and sometimes strong current , 85-90m. big modeld but also not that many , we bottom bash and generally come home with either dhuis - large kgs.or baldys ,break sea , rarely do we catch nor really want snapper ,,, this year qeen snapper up to 1m.plus models has been plentifull but they all get released.suggest do the work in finding ground and farm the ares that you find , dont consistantly keep going to the same ground everytime

The best in my books agree
10 kg to 12kg. They loose quality any bigger . Also don’t get much more meat out off them.

Agree with Johnny re the size
Bigger ones just get a bit chewy, in my books. 12kg tops.
