Dhu wouldn"t believe it!!!!!
With the fishing gods finally smiling upon us, I was fortunate enough to be able to get out from Two rocks with Ryan Thipthorp on Sunday and hit up the 40m mark. The call for the day was to fish with artificals only with no bait to be taken out, and after carefull consultation with Ryan (what do you reckon about this colour? Yeh mate she'll be alright!) we concurred and sent down our McArty soft plastics into the briney deep ( I was using a 7in Bullhead in orange/yellow pattern and Ryan choosing a Chartruse pearl bullhead, jig heads were 1 to 1 1/2 oz).
With a gentleman hours start to the boat ramp we launch around the 10.00am mark and headed out to the first spot. First few drift didn't produce alot with Ryan nailing an undersize Dhui which was released well to fight another day successfully. A quick move saw us droppping on ground wwith Ryan's fateful words " this looks like the type of ground that I usually pick up Dhui's in the 10-15kg range. Softies down, jig jig jig bang Ryan's on ...... result 15kg of prime table fish. Next drift same result but this time it was yours truly who was the lucky angler...10kg Dhu to the account. This pretty much set the tone for the day with numerous moves and a bite that I have never experienced before.
The soft plastics were being absolutly smashed by the Dhuies with them being taken well down in the mouth. All up we probably fished 4 hours with a tally of around 12-15 Dhuies with 2 being kept. Best results were Ryan 7 & 15 kg Dhu on soft plastic, me 5 & 10kg dhu on soft plastic. With the rest of the fish either just under ranging up to the big bugger Ryan nailed. Biggest problem was we were unable to get away from Dhuies......some problem hey! Thanks must go to Ryan for a fantastic day out (if you really want to gain more knowledge about fishing, you must give Ryan a call about his fishing tuitions, just have to put up with the bugger being smug when he gets it right!!!!!! Nah not really, he is a good guy who can teach you alot about fishing and targeting different species. See the Fishwrecked sponsor list as he will really help you out into getting into the fish).
Oh and buy the way FRESH DHUI FOR TEA TONIGHT AND DAMN IT TASTED GOOD!

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Well done guys
Sounds (and looks) like a great trip out.
I'm starting to get cabin fever.... its been several weeks since my last fishing trip, but the bar is nearly finished now, so hopefully this weekend I can get amongst some fish too.
You have inspired me to get out there ox.
Cheers

Two Rocks Dhus
Nice work lads. The weather was great for you guys and that helps a lot at Two Rocks. 15 dhus in four hours; that's pretty good going.
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.

looks like a great
looks like a great day
was this a paid trip through ryans tuition bussiness?
am thinking of going out just wanted to know how you rated the value for money ect?
getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

Thesupervisor this
Thesupervisor this technically was not a paid trip but I had helped Ryan out with a few electrical problems. Mate since I have known Ryan I have found that the help and assistance that he gives you towards fishing is invaluable. He takes his time and explains what he is doing and gives you the complete picture to what he is trying to achieve. He ticks all the boxes when it comes to guidance and by being fortunate enough to get out and fish with him my knowledge of fishing from sounder reading , rig presentation, gear choice,bait/artifical choice, etc has increased greatly.
So inresponse to your question about the rating of value for money then I would have to say definatley very much worth it. In the end the real value for me was to get out to fish and have a fantastic day on the water (whether I caught fish or not, to me it is about experience for the day rather than the fish catch/kill count). Good company, good weather and if you are lucky enough a fish or two for the dinner plate always equals a great day in my books.
If you need any further info. give me a PM with your contact details and I will either get in touch with you or you can call me.
regards Ox
